This group's main purpose is the research and development of computer systems that solve problems that involve the processing of information and knowledge. Several approaches to the treatment of contextual and semantic information has been used, including use of distributed artificial intelligence, mainly with agent-based software models. The technical aspects of rationality of agents as rules of inference, logical frames, genetic algorithms, case-based reasoning, neural networks, qualitative spatial reasoning, ontologies and data mining has been applied.
